IIokano doctors cast ballots for INMS, PMA elections
The Ilocos Norte Medical Society (INMS) has sustained the promotion of its brand of leadership through the simultaneous conduct of the 2020 INMS Lo-cal Election of Officers and the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) National Election, from July 25 to 26.
With polling precincts at the Governor. Roque B. Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital, Laoag City General Hospital, and Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, the INMS local election employed manual voting on July 26 and electronic voting through SMS, as early as July 25. Meanwhile, the PMA national election was done by online voting on its official website.
Taking on roles with passion and determination, this year’s INMS Officers will be led by president-elect Dr. Luis Jake R. Rubio. With him are Dr. Jomelyn A.
Bolompo and Dr. Emely T. Pumaras, Vice Presidents; Dr. Brenda A. Barbero, Secretary; Dr. Rickson R. Balalio, Assistant Secretary; Dr. Crislie Crispin D. Agullana Jr., Treasurer; Dr. Sinamar Ann D. Abando, Assistant Treasurer; Dr. Adolavni D. Magpily, Auditor; Dr. Helen R. Catcatan, Public Relations Officer; and Councilors Dr. Marierose L. Tolentino, Dr. Hanz Clemente S. Batangan, Dr. Aileen V. Cabatbat, and Dr. Cesar B. Carullo.
Through the effective representation of and among medical practitioners, the province’s prime medical organization will strive to keep up with the demands of the health sector, diversify programs for professional growth, and develop the pioneering spirit INMS is known for.#

INMS officials-elect accept turnover of duties, responsibilities
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ilokano people face many challenges when trying to access healthcare services in the province. The health sec-tor, both on a local and national scale, has been struggling with a shortage of medical professionals and health equipment. But above all these, the Medi-cal Society, alongside health workers and volunteers, continues to brave challenges, serving as hopes on the constant endeavor to provide the best healthcare assistance and services to the people of Ilocos Norte.
Anticipating growth and continuing to partner together to transform Ilocos Norte into the safest home for every Ilokano, the outgoing and newly elected officials of the Ilocos Norte Medical Society conducted a Turn Over Ceremony at the Kitchen Lab in Laoag City, last August 6.
Immediate Past President Dr. Jonathan G. Noble has endorsed the INMS banner, mace and gavel, and documents to President-elect Dr. Luis Jake R. Rubio. Moreover, outgoing Treasurer, Dr. Sinamar Ann D. Abando has authorized the turnover of bankbooks, payments, and other documents of financial transac-tions to Dr. Crislie Crispin D. Agullana Jr. Further, Dr. Rickson R. Balalio has assisted in the endorsement of the total number of members and resolutions made by the previous INMS Board of Officers.#
